What does "phytocannabinoid" mean?
You may hear the term "Phytocannabinoid" or "PCR" quite often when researching CBD oil, so what does this term mean?  The first part, "Phyto", means from plants, as hemp is a plant.  CBD is just one of many cannabinoids found in cannabis plants.  Cannabinoids are chemicals compounds secreted by cannabis plants, there hard many (100+) known cannabinoids, of which CBD is just one, with other well known ones such as CBG, CBN and of course even THC (all our products contain less than the legal limit of 0.3% THC).  So, "Phytocannabinoid" simply means cannabinoids from plants.  It is important to distinguish cannabinoids from plants as our bodies produce naturally occurring cannabinoids such as Anandamide (AEA), which are known as "Endocannabinoids".  Also, a few pharmaceutical companies have begun creating synthetic cannabinoids in a lab, such as Marinol or Epidiolex.  So, whenever you see Phytocanninoids, it simply means containing cannabinoids from the actual plants.
