What Are The Chakras? CBD & The Chakras, The Sacral & Root Chakras.

What are the Chakras?
Chakra in Sanskrit translates to wheel or disk of spiritual energetic centers within the human body. The chakra system originated between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text called the Vedas, which are the earliest Sanskrit records and scriptures of Hinduism. There are seven chakras that follow the spine of the human body and each correspond to specific organs as well as physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual states of being. When the chakra centers are opened and in alignment our lives, bodies, emotions, and minds are open, stable, and free flowing. When our chakras are blocked this can cause physical ailments, illness, emotional upsets, and a disconnection to ourselves.

CBD and The Chakras
How can CBD help us balance and maintain alignment in our chakras? CBD has the potential to magnify our thoughts and feelings at the subconscious level and can help in raising self-awareness. By raising our awareness, there is the potential to gain more sensitivity to the energy of our chakric centers and emotions. Our bodies are naturally hardwired with an endocannabinoid system. Our cells are naturally connected to these synapses, which is how are cells communicate with one another. This system is comprised of two receptors CB1 and CB2 and both are activated when CBD enters our system. The CB1 receptors are located primarily in the brain and the central nervous system, which operates along the chakra points of our physical bodies. CB1 receptors can help facilitate helpful binders such as serotonin and dopamine. CB1 receptors also block harmful molecules that cause depression, inflammation, and pain. Thus, CBD has the potential for us to unblock our chakras by guiding the right energies into these sites while potentially moving along stagnant energies so that they are not stuck and stagnant blocking these centers within our bodies spiritually, emotionally, and physically. CBD also can potentially bring better awareness into ourselves to identify the emotions that we have been withholding within us that have been causing misalignment in our chakra system.

The chakras also correspond to different elements, sounds, colors, food, and even astrological signs. As we now move into December we roll on into Sagittarius and Capricorn season.

Root Chakra

Starting at the base, the first chakra is the Root Chakra, which expresses the nature of Capricorn. It is represented by the color red and the element of earth. Our Root Chakra is what keeps us grounded and represents our basic needs and survival instincts. It is located in the genital region and represents from this area downward into the legs and feet. This energy connects us to our sense of feeling grounded in the world and our instincts of survival. When it is in balance we know that our basic needs will always be met, we are safe, we are in touch with our physical reality, and self, and feel apart of the world. The Root chakra is the foundation of our life and our emotions it is the roots that allow us to grow upward with a secure and safe foundation. When the Root Chakra is misaligned we can experience excessive negativity, eating disorders, illusions, insecurity, constant fear, lack mentality, survival mode, knee pain, issues within the legs and feet, disassociation, and paranoia.

To bring the Root Chakra back into alignment consuming foods such as apples, raspberries, tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, pomegranates, peppers, beets, carrots, and parsnips can be helpful in activating and balancing this chakric center. Working with the mantra “I am” can help your subconscious tune into the security and safety that is necessary to bring this chakra back into balance. Additionally, working with or carrying crystals such as hematite, bloodstone, garnet, ruby, carnelian, jasper, red jasper, and smokey quartz is also helpful in unblocking this center. The root chakra is associated with our sense of smell and essential oils such as vetiver, patchouli, cedar-wood, ginger, ylang ylang, rosemary, frankincense, rosewood, cloves, black spruce, and black pepper are a great way to help unblock this chakra and restore balance. Our Root Chakra foot soak combines the benefits of CBD and essential oils of ylang ylang, rosemary, frankincense, and black spruce to help you to unwind, relax, and can aid in reestablishing your sense of security in the world.

Sacral Chakra

Sacral Chakra Blog

Sagittarius is ruled by the Sacral Chakra, which is represented by the color orange and the element of water. The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra from the base moving upward. It is located in the pubic region below the navel and rules the hips, thighs, reproductive organs, kidneys, bladder, uterus, prostate, adrenal glands, and genitals. The Sacral Chakra is related to emotions and independence as our adrenal glands control feelings of anxiety that can limit your decisions and emotions. It is responsible for our sexual and creative energy. When in alignment you will feel a creativity, passion, pleasure, joy, and a healthy sexual energy within you. This is our pleasure center and this energy allows us to feel pure enjoyment in our lives and our relationships. When your Sacral Chakra is blocked you will feel uninspired, experience menses issues, sexual dysfunction, lack of playful energy, lack of empathy, depleted self-worth, fear of change, low libido, urinary tract infections, hormonal imbalances, insecurity, resentfulness, control issues, withdrawn, tense, depression, and addiction-like behaviors.

So what can we do to enhance the health of our Sacral Chakra and allow our energy to flow smoothly? Eating more fruits and vegetables such as pumpkin, oranges, carrots, coconut, papaya, mangos, walnuts and melons. Incorporating and working with crystals such as red and brown aventurine, red garnet, citrine, carnelian, red jasper also can help us attune our Sacral Chakra. Working with the mantra “I feel” can allow your subconscious to release the blockage around this center helping you feel comfortable expressing your creative and sexual nature. Since the Sacral Chakra is ruled by the element of water, spending time in water such as a lake, ocean, or even taking a bath can help restore balance along with the use of essential oils such as orange, tangerine, neroli, jasmine, rosewood, clary sage, grapefruit, and bergamot. Our Sacral Chakra bath bomb combines the effects of CBD and essential oils of bergamot and orange to provide the ultimate aid in helping unblock your Sacral Chakra. Pair this with the relaxing sounds of the ocean or rainfall and you have the perfect recipe to opening back up to your sexuality, self worth, and creative flow.

Self-love and self-care is a great way to bring yourself back to your center, to your soul, to allow you to feel through what is holding you back in order to release it to move forward. December is a month jam-packed with holidays, family, and events. Allow yourself the time to slow down, relax, and unblock yourself this Holiday season so you can exude your highest self and presence during this wonderful time of connection and joy.
